Wed-Thurs June 7-8: VOLCANO

Blogmaster at work. In another couple of days this pic will be down the blog and mostly out of site, but Yuli wanted it here, as she took it. As Indonesian residents go, it seems I'm relatively hirsute (I think that's the word).

This is, in all likelihood, the last day for awhile which will be documented with many pictures. I'll switch to basic reports to save time.

This morning began with a massive burst from the volcano, which is probably the portent of much worse to come. We are not out of the woods yet, and your donations are hugely appreciated and still needed.

Wednesday, Yuli and her colleagues spent approximately $500 on blankets (50), tents (50), sleeping mats (25), baby products and toiletries, among other things. Notes on how this was accomplished, and what happened to them, follow with the pictures.

Some beautiful things are happening on the road now. The convoy drives by sites they have aided and sees their (and your) contributions in use, and looks of optimism in victims' eyes. One village, upon receipt of their supplies, was so grateful they wanted to fashion some kind of receipt! I'll bring it to St. Paul's in July.

Change is happening. Thank you. Even I feel an urge to shout HALLELUJAH!

PS -- Don't forget to click on these pictures; if you click on them, you'll get much bigger, more detailed images. On the other hand, you probably don't want to click on the one above, unless you want to exam the blogmaster's nose...
